Te Anau-Milford Road
The Te Anau Milford Highway is a spectacular alpine drive.
The 240 kilometre return journey travels through extremely mountainous and winding terrain, and takes a minimum of 2½ hours to drive each way (not allowing for scenic stops etc).
This time includes some leeway for potential delays at the Homer Tunnel while traffic lights are in operation over the summer months, which can contribute to delays of up to 20 minutes.
