The Hollyford Track is the only major track in Fiordland at low altitude which can be walked in any season and also connects to the Fiordland coastline.

It is a moderate, tramping track from the Hollyford Road end of the old port of Martins Bay. NZ Fur Seal colony and Fiordland Crested Penguins at Martins Bay present at certain times of the year.
The Track can be undertaken as an independant walker, or with a guided walk party. The Guided Walkers stay in different huts and have a more 'luxurious' experience.

Operates all year round. A very pleasant track even in winter, as there are no alpine crossings although weather conditions can cause flooding and tree falls. Trampers should be well equipped and have good back country experience and safety gear.

Public transport services both ends of the track. Walkers hould have arranged transport connections before they pick up their passes or tickets.

Popular option is to fly in to Martins Bay and walk out
Optional jet boat transport on Lake McKerrow during the summer season.
It is recommended you leave your intentions with the Department of Conservation, Te Anau before starting this track.
Some river crossings have 3-wire bridges.

12 bunks in each hut. No guarantee of a bed. May need to carry a tent during busy times |

Prices valid 2006/2007:
$10 per adult and $5 per youth in serviced huts
$5 per adult and $2.50 per youth at McKerrow Island
All huts have wood fires but no gas cookers and are partly serviced with the exception of McKerrow Island, which is a standard hut. |
