Mt Prospect Luxury Accommodation and High Country Station Experience

Offering luxury accommodation to the discerning traveller

Offering luxury accommodation in the homestead, Mt Prospect Station is truly a unique experience for discerning travelers wishing to meet real New Zealanders and experience life on a high country sheep and beef station in New Zealand.

The 3,400-hectare (8,500 acre) station has been in the Cockburn family since 1913 and is now run by Ross & Joan Cockburn and their son Grant and wife Rachel. Ross & Joan have been hosting guests in their home for eighteen years and in 2000 extensively altered and refurbished the homestead to provide a greater sense of luxury and comfort.

Mt Prospect High Country Homestay is a perfect base to visit any of Fiordlands attractions with the resort town of Te Anau only 15 minutes away, a spectacular two-hour drive in to Milford Sound and 30 minutes from Manapouri, the starting point for a visit to Doubtful Sound.
