DHL NZ Lions Series 2017

13th June 2017 - Dunedin will host the British & Irish Lions at Forsythe Barr Stadium to take on the Highlanders in an epic rugby challenge in front of what will be a sell-out crowd. If you are heading to Dunedin to join the truly passionate southern supporters in what always shapes up as one of the best atmospheres in New Zealand rugby don't forget to make some time to visit Fiordland before or after the game.

Te Anau is a 3.5 hour drive from Dunedin and is the Gateway to Fiordland - showcasing the beauty of Milford Sound and the awe-inspiring Doubtful Sound.  Te Anau offers plenty of places to stay and a variety of dining options and cafes.  Why not check out the Te Anau Glow Worm Caves during your visit?  Go along to a screening of Ata Whenua and enjoy a fabulous New Zealand wine or craft beer whilst relaxing in the big comfy seats.  Milford Sound is a scenic 2-2.5 hour drive from Te Anau and is definitely worth a visit - take a coach trip from Te Anau and let someone else do the driving for the day.  Alternatively drive to Manapouri only 20kms from Te Anau and home to New Zealand's most beautiful lake and the departure point for Doubtful Sound day trips.  Te Anau offers plenty of walks and a new cycle track so be sure to include a visit in your rugby itinerary.  You might even catch a local's game here at the Te Anau Rugby Club.
