Our region boasts numerous rivers and streams that can be accessed via vehicle within an hours drive of Te Anau. Rivers like the Mararoa, Oreti, Aparima and Mataura are well known among anglers for their outstanding sight fisheries. Upstream dry fly and nymph fishing techniques are the standard approach for fooling a sighted fish into taking the fly.

The Southland region offers a variety of easily accessible fly fishing opportunities for wild Brown and Rainbow trout in a mix of bush and bucolic settings. The majority of clients looking for a traditional guided fly fishing experience will elect to fish the Southland region via vehicle access. All equipment and tackle supplied.
