From Te Anau

Te Anau is the basecamp for Fiordland National Park and the perfect place to set yourself up for day walking. Nestled on the shores of Lake Te Anau, the township offers easy access to many great walking options.

From Manapouri

Manapouri township is set on the shores of dramatic Lake Manapouri at the mouth of the Waiau River. It is a 20-minute drive from Te Anau to Manapouri, and once there, you will find plenty of scenic short walks exploring lakeshore and forest.

Mavora Lakes

A popular camping and recreation spot for both Fiordland locals and visitors, Mavora Lakes is an impressive landscape of lake, forest and tussock grasslands. Two serene lakes, North Mavora and South Mavora provide ample opportunities for swimming, paddling and, of course, walking.
